Christopher Harriss

Christopher Harriss brings over 20 years of logistics leadership and operational excellence to Heroic Maritime.  As one of the first Mobility Warrant Officers in the US Army, Chris leveraged specialized expertise in strategic deployments and transportation operations, managing complex movements of personnel, equipment, and assets across three continents simultaneously.  He excels at fleet operations, analyzing supply chain data, contingency operations, and risk/threat analysis. 

Chris's approach is intersecting leadership and decision science—leveraging data-backed analysis to optimize and de-risk operations, and transportation planning. He managed multi-million dollar budgets and executed high-stakes logistics operations in organizations ranging from combat operations to global manufacturing contracts. 

He holds advanced degrees in Applied Mathematics from UNC and is a LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt.  Chris heads up our supply chain advisory team.

Will is a 25+ year special operations veteran specializing in risk identification and mitigation strategy + leadership development.

Having held CEO roles, he knows how to assist talented boards, and exceptionally talented senior staff alike.  Will's collaborative inquiry approach and easy-going style drives quick results with teams at every level.  He is highly sought for his management of red teaming exercises and risk / threat analysis.

30+ year Leader in maritime commercial & technical operations, Dave is particularly adept at suggesting novel ways to improve a project's balance sheet and supply chain - especially perishables and high-value agricultural commodities. 

Dave served in C-suite roles for global maritime companies. Previously, managed Maersk's USF ship management & chartering business unit.  He is a 25-year US Navy intelligence officer with multiple combat tours serving Naval Special Warfare and JSOC communities.  Career highlights:  Leading inbound logistics response to the Ebola crisis in West Africa and vessel recovery for the Maersk Alabama piracy event.  

He holds a BS Marine Transportation from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy,  MS in Mangement from Troy University,  MS Education from Old Dominion University and an Executive Certificate from the Brookings Institution.

Dilawar leads our bulk cargo advisory services and specializes in emerging markets.   He works in diverse regions from North America to Indian sub-continent, Indonesia, Philippines, East Africa, Middle East, Russia, Mongolia, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Georgia -- with a reputation for operations excellence in austere environments.  He holds a Master's degree in Maritime Transportation Economics from State University of New York Maritime College. 

Aluma literally grew up in the maritime business.  Coming from a ship owning family, she is fascinated by trade pattern and capital deployment analysis driving her education in the UK and an MBA from Columbia University.

Aluma manages our analytics products helping us and our clients understand market niches and become more self aware of biases in decision making.

Patrick Johnsen works with clients on project management, private equity and corporate finance. Captain Johnsen has fifty plus years diversified maritime experience and leadership with senior level management positions at Attransco, ExxonMobil, Kirby Corporation, Morgan Stanley and U.S Shipping. Captain Johnsen possesses a comprehensive understanding of global trading and ship management .  He is a graduate of California Maritime Academy and Master of Science from SUNY Maritime College
